Eleanor Roosevelt once said that you should do something everyday that scares you. In my attempt to follow this I am going to go face to face with my biggest pet peeve turned fear, gum. I hate gum. The deformed way it looks after you have chewed is revolting, and the act of chewing on a piece of sticky matter is bizarre to me. But the worst part of gum is the sound that it makes when someone is chewing it, it is like smacking but on steroids because it never stops, there is no pause to swallow the sound continues and haunts your ear. When the taste of gum runs out one would think that it would not be too hard to simply dispose of it in a trash can. However, for some reason, that I am not aware, people tend to stick there gum in every place possible other than a trash can. From under a desk to behind an ear people will stop at nothing to avoid throwing their gum away properly. I am going to explore the world of used gum and try to understand why a trash can is the last place you will find it. Enjoy, and please dispose of your gum properly.

Save the Trees

Trees are very essential to life. They provide us with oxygen, shade, paper and many more important things. Sadly, we don't always treat our tress with the respect that they deserve. People seem to think it is okay to stick their gum on these large plants. The beauty of trees is taken away when people stick their trash on them. You can't enjoy a nice shaded picnic under a tree when there is pieces of gum starring at you. Gum trees seem to be becoming a trend at summer camps and in large cities please help stop the epidemic and "go green" and throw your gum in the trash can.
